If you're in the market for a new backpack and are on a budget, the Decathlon Forclaz 50L Backpack might just be the perfect option for you. This backpack has been available for a several weeks and in this article, I'll give you an overview of what makes this bag special, its pros and cons, and some additional features that make it stand out from other backpacks in the market.
One of the biggest pros of this backpack is its price. At just 40-50 Euros, it's budget-friendly and you get a lot of value for your money. Additionally, it comes in a neutral color scheme which makes it versatile and suitable for different types of travelers.
The backpack is designed for traditional travel, such as by plane, train or car, but it can also be used for backpacking and hiking in the mountains. It comes with a handle on the top that makes it easy to carry around, especially when you're on the go.
Another cool feature of the Decathlon Forclaz 50L Backpack is the zip that runs all the way from the bottom to the top. This allows you to open the bag without having to unbuckle it and make it easier to access what's inside.
The backpack also comes with two pockets on either side where you can store your water bottle or any other essentials that you might need. On one side, there's a thin pocket with a zip that can hold items such as maps or your phone. The backpack also has a pocket on the back where you can keep sensitive documents such as passports.
The interior of the bag is spacious and can hold a large amount of gear, including a sleeping bag and a 15-inch computer. There's also a pocket on the top that's perfect for storing small items such as a passport, phone, or gloves. It's fairly lightweight weighing in at around 1.3kg, so neither ultralight nor ultralight heavy.
The only part of the backpack that provides frame and back support is a long bar that runs along the spine of the bag. The bar can be removed, but the backpack becomes very floppy without it.
As mentioned in the video review, the side hip belt pocket of the backpack may be too small for larger smartphones, causing inconvenience for users who rely on having their phone easily accessible. This could be a drawback for those who prioritize having their phone close at hand, especially during outdoor activities or while traveling. The limited size of the side pocket may not allow users to carry their phone, wallet, and other essentials, which could be an issue for some. To address this issue, the manufacturer may need to consider re-designing the side hip belt pocket to accommodate larger devices, ensuring a better user experience for everyone.
In conclusion, the Decathlon Forclaz 50L Backpack is an excellent option for those who are on a budget and want a versatile and functional backpack. With its affordable price, neutral color scheme, and additional features, this backpack is a great choice for any type of traveler.
